Smile Empty Soul!!

California trio Smile Empty Soul recently signed with Bieler Bros. Records and will release its long-overdue second album, now titled 'Vultures', on October 24. A track called "Jesus Is The Manager at Wal-Mart" has been posted at the label's MySpace page. Smile Empty Soul had initially titled its sophomore effort 'Anxiety' and had set a September 2005 release date for it, back when the group was still signed to Atlantic Records, but that CD never materialized for unknown reasons, according to Launch Radio Networks.

'Vultures' will finally follow up Smile Empty Soul's 2003 self-titled debut, which was certified gold for sales of more than 500,000 copies. The CD will contain 12 tracks, including "The Hit", "Here's to Another" and "Disease".

Bieler Bros. Records, an independent label based in Florida, is also the home of bands like Nonpoint and Skindred.

캘리포니아 출신 트리오 Smile Empty Soul은 얼마전 Bieler Bros. Records와 계약했다. 또한 모두가 오랫동안 기다려온 2번째 앨범 'Vultures'가 오늘 10월 24일날 발매될 예정이다. 공개된 트랙 "Jesus is the Manager at Wal-Mart"는 레이블의 Myspace 페이지에 포스트 되어있다. Smile Empty Soul은 그들의 소포모어作을 'Anxiety'라 명명하고 2005년 9월 발매할 예정이었으나(밴드가 아직 Atilantic Records와 계약중이었을 때), 앨범은 알려지지 않은 이유들로 인해 정상적으로 발매되지 못했다.

'Vultures'는 500000개(와우!)를 팔아치워 골드를 기록한 그들의 2003년 self-titled 앨범(Smile Empty Soul)에 이어 두번째 정식 앨범이 될 것이다. "The Hit", "Here's to Another", "Disease"를 포함한 12곡이 수록될 예정.

오늘 메일을 통해 확인하게 된 화끈한 내용(!). 내 블로그 포스트에도 어둠의 경로를 통해 구한 그들의 '비공식' 두번째 앨범 'Anxiety' 수록곡이 담겨있는데... 정말 죽었는지, 살았는지 답답할 정도로 소식이 없었다.

Amazon.com에서는 Anxiety는 버젓이 팔리고 있는데, 그들의 공식 웹사이트는 폐쇄되어 있었고...그렇게 거의 1년여가 되갈 무렵, 이와 같이 반가운 메일이 하나 왔다.

예~전에 Smile Empty Soul 공식 페이지에서 메일링에 가입했는데, 드디어ㅠㅠㅠㅠ


솔직히 내가 좋아하는 밴드들은 정말 많다. 하지만 과거부터 지금까지 쭉....변함없이, 뇌리 속에서 잊혀지지 않는 이름이 있다면 자신있게 Smile Empty Soul 이라고 말하고 싶다.

이들에 대한 나의 '특집 포스트'는 나중(?)을 기약하며 이쯤에서 접기로 한다.
